Sanguine Brasserie

LIVELY, OPTIMISTIC, DEEP-RED AND FULL OF CONFIDENCE… These are some of the definitions of the word “sanguine”, which is also the name of the brasserie that is housed in the lobby of Oslo’s opera house. The food here has predominantly French, Italian and Spanish influences and the tables are adorned with symbolic red flowers.

We offer a broad and attractive menu, both in the evening and at lunchtime, and have chosen to work with flavours that people recognise and like. Our concept is that there should be something here for everyone.

Sanguine is an informal and hospitable brasserie with an open and airy location, and a lively and pulsating atmosphere. It gives you a full view of the guests and activities in the opera house. The outdoor dining area is right on the water's edge, with a striking view of the inner Oslofjord.
